PROVIDE SAFE DRINKING WATER FOR A FAMILY
Access to safe drinking water is the foundation for the issues of health, education, food, and livelihood. This water is provided via the means of a Bio-Sand Water Filter that lasts up to two decades or more and is able to provide for an entire family. A Bio-Sand Filter (BSF) is a point-of-use water treatment system adapted from traditional slow sand filters. Cambodia has over 9,000,000 cases of diarrhoeal disease, costing the nation $448 million a year. One of the easiest ways to combat poverty and disease is to provide access to clean water sources.
ACCESS TO LIFE SAVING WATER
Quench the thirst of people living in Tigray by giving them clean water that is absent of water-borne diseases for one day. The provision of clean and hygienic water will reduce a womans average daily water collection time; effectively reduces children mortality rate from water-borne diseases; and allows girls to receive a proper education instead of spending their time collecting water.
PROVIDE A CHILD WITH FILTERED DRINKING WATER
Give access to safe water for a Tanzanian child at a local school by providing a ceramic water filter for a day. Provide local employment at the same time as each ceramic Tembo pot filter is locally manufactured. Each unit provides safe and effective water filtration to a bottled water quality. The ceramic water filters are long-lasting with an expected lifespan of 2 years and have been tested in the laboratory to remove more than 99.8% of bacteria. Protect the health of a child by eliminating the incidence of waterborne diseases.
